What are the Classes of Driver’s licenses in Manitoba?
Class 1
Permits semi-trailers and all kinds of vehicles except motorcycles. The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
Class 2

It may be available to new drivers as young as 16 years old if they’ve completed high school and had their learner’s permit for 12 months without incidents or violations. In order to qualify for a driver’s licence, you need to successfully complete the GDL program. The GDL applies regardless of age, and all persons applying for a driver’s licence must apply under the GDL.
In order to be eligible for a Class 5 GDL license in Manitoba, you must meet the following requirements:
